So the real deal is happening in Ho Chi Minh City, since early May 2021, over 1000 cases were found every day. Until mid of Aug 2021, the number of COVID cases has reached over 144,000. Many of them are having treatment and well caring at hospitals. But our health system is stretched.
Vietnam is carrying out its biggest vaccination campaign in history
Let’s face the fact that Ho Chi Minh is the top region by the number of hospital beds in Viet Nam. As of 2017, the number of hospital beds in Ho Chi Minh was 25,569 that accounts for 9.66% of Viet Nam’s number of hospital beds. Viet Nam’s total number of hospital beds was estimated at 264,755 in 2017. As we’re seeing right now in many gov hospitals that the bed capacity is almost full or is full. It means that there are hardly any beds left for everyone.
Recognizing that its medical system would soon become overwhelmed, the COVID treatment and other health issues following up at-home solutions need to be planned and required quick action. Doctor, Nurse, Pharmacist, and all Social Resources are now playing their roles. Deeply take research on the medical group (public or private) across Vietnam, many social groups have been made and actively providing consultations.
